Gaza City – At least 50 people have been killed in Israeli strikes on the northern Gaza Strip since midnight, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency on Friday.

“The number of martyrs killed in Israeli shelling targeting civilian homes in the northern Gaza Strip between midnight and early this morning has risen to 50,”
said Mohammed al-Mughayyir, a senior official in the civil defence.
“Our teams are still working in those areas.”

A medical source at the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, who wished to remain anonymous, reported receiving 30 dead and dozens of wounded, with most of the victims being children and women.

At Al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia, acting director Mohammed Saleh confirmed that the facility had received five bodies and treated more than 75 injured following the overnight bombardment.

Eyewitnesses describe harrowing scenes as the strikes hit densely populated residential areas.

“The Israeli occupation bombed the house next to mine, hitting it directly while its residents were inside,”

said Yousef Al-Sultan, 40, from the al-Salatin area, west of Beit Lahia.

He described an intense combination of air strikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire from quadcopter drones, contributing to mass panic and widespread displacement.

“There is a massive wave of displacement among civilians. Fear and panic grip us in the middle of the night,” he said.

Hospitals in northern Gaza continue to operate under severe pressure, with medical supplies running low and casualties increasing daily.
