Spanish construction giant ACS, chaired by Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, is reportedly exploring a bid for Morocco’s Hassan II Grand Stadium project in Benslimane, according to Spanish media outlet Vozpópuli.
Set to become one of Africa’s largest stadiums, the project is estimated at over €470 million and is expected to host the final match of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco is co-hosting alongside Spain and Portugal.
For ACS—a global leader in engineering and infrastructure—this presents a strategic opportunity to expand its footprint in Africa, competing in a high-profile project with deep symbolic and geopolitical value. The company has reportedly engaged Moroccan public law firms to examine legal, technical, and economic conditions related to the development.
While no official decision has yet been announced, ACS’s involvement would bring world-class expertise to a national flagship initiative that reflects Morocco’s global sporting ambitions and growing influence in international infrastructure development.
The Hassan II Grand Stadium is poised to become a national icon, not only for its scale and architecture but also for its role in strengthening Morocco’s image as a world-class host for global sports events.
