Casablanca – The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed on a slightly negative note on Thursday, as its benchmark index, the MASI, declined by 0.07% to settle at 17,996.73 points.

The MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks on the exchange, recorded a 0.17% drop, ending the session at 1,466.42 points. Similarly, the MASI ESG—an index that tracks companies with the highest environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings, as assessed by Moody’s ESG Solutions—fell by 0.07%, reaching 1,228.69 points.

The slight declines reflect cautious sentiment among investors, with the market reacting to regional economic trends and global financial signals. Analysts expect trading to remain moderate in the short term, pending fresh corporate or macroeconomic developments.
